Peacock pasturing

In addition to laying precious eggs, peacocks can be of considerable agricultural benefit. Once a farming season, peacocks can be released to graze on any of your land that is ready to be planted. This option is only available for Common, Red, and Royal Peacocks. They will graze in the same field for two days. While grazing, peacocks feed on bugs, worms, and the like, killing pests and fertilizing the soil.

If a peacock is for sale at the Fair, it cannot be put out to pasture. Conversely, if a peacock is already grazing in a field, it cannot be offered for sale at the Fair.

The benefits of grazing

How can you benefit from grazing? These are the benefits:

  • Peacocks in the field do not eat bread from the feeder. They feed on wild foods.
  • The grazing process provides a yield increase of up to 10% on this land, as a result of the natural fertilization of the land.
  • During grazing, peacocks continue to produce as usual - laying simple and precious eggs.
  • Every 2 days a peacock spends in the field extends its life by 1 day.

A peacock grazing in a field can be dragged away by a dragon. However, the probability of this event occurring is quite small. Peacocks have abilities that help defend themselves against predators. Of course, the more expensive the breed, the more developed such abilities are and the lower the likelihood of abduction.

Table. Probability of a peacock being kidnapped by a dragon

The Red Peacock Red0,3
The Royal Peacock Royal0,14

Number of peacocks in the field

You can send one or more peacocks of different breeds to each plot at the same time, but so that their total value does not exceed 7 gold coins. By properly calculating the number of your fields and the number of peacocks, as well as by making the right grazing schedule, you can not feed the peacocks with bread at all, while continuing to get products from them!
