# Superfood

## What are superfoods for?

Superfeed is an innovative development of the State Farm Biotechnology Division. This amazing substance can significantly affect the weight gain of your bulls and milk yields of your cows, and therefore your profits. You can add superfood to your cattle's regular feed ration. We will refer to this diet as the Strengthened Feeding Ration. Superfood is not a substitute for regular food, it only supplements it.

As you may have already guessed, there are two types of superfood: for bulls, it increases their weight gain and for cows, it increases milk yields.

**Attention!** Superfood for cows only increases milk yield, but does not affect the weight or other parameters of the cows. Superfeed for bulls only improves the rate of weight gain of bulls, but has no effect on other parameters of bulls.

Any animal between 61 and 420 days of age can be switched to an increased feed ration. The animal is selected in the barnyard or barn (if there is one), using the "Increased Feeding" control.

**Warning.** When an animal is put into a heavy feeding mode, its readiness to mate decreases to zero and will not increase until the animal is taken out of this mode. Switching to a heavy feeding regime has no effect on the litter production of the animal.

## Where and how to buy superfood?

**There are two ways to buy superfood:**

- Make your own in the State Farm Biotechnology Department.
- Buy ready-made superfoods at the Fair.

Buying superfood at the Fair is easy and won't cause you any questions.

**When making your own superfood on the State Farm, there are some specifics to consider:**

- The cost of producing 1 kg of superfood is 0.1 gold coin + 1 State Farm.
- Each player has a limit on superfood production (common to the entire account). It equals 1/5 of the number of coupons you received when exchanging young steers for State Farm coupons. Only coupons received during the exchange are taken into account. Coupons purchased on the Merchants' Guild Commodity Exchange (or obtained by other means) do not increase the limit, but may be used to produce superfood. Thus, if you have never traded steers for coupons, you will not be able to produce superfeed yourself.

**Example:**

You raised a steer weighing 410 kg and exchanged it for State Farm coupons. Your superfood production limit in the Biotechnology Department will increase by 410/5=82 kg. The limit is indefinite, it will be reduced only when superfoods are produced. For example, if you produced 10 kg of superfood for bulls and 5 kg of superfood for cows, your limit will be reduced by 15 kg. You sold the remaining 395 sheep on the Commodity Exchange - the limit did not change. If you buy coupons on the exchange in the future (or get them in some other way) - you can produce another 67 kg of superfood. When exchanging for coupons of the next bull, the calculation will be made in the same way, the limits will be summed up.

## Bonuses for consuming superfoods

The maximum amount of superfood your bull or cow can consume in a day is 25 kg. You can feed the animals superfood continuously (daily) or you can do it occasionally. Both the amount of superfood consumed and the duration of its continuous consumption will affect the amount of bonuses given by the corresponding type of superfood.

- The daily volume of superfood received determines the size of the base bonus.
- The duration of continuous superfeeding determines the amount of the extra bonus.

Recall that superfood for bulls allows the animal to gain weight every day at an accelerated rate. Superfood for cows allows you to increase daily milk yields.

Let's take a closer look at the mechanisms for obtaining these two types of bonuses. Basic bonus for superfood consumption

The effect of superfood on an animal is three-step and depends on the amount of superfood consumed per day. Each kilogram of superfood increases the size of the base bonus to your animal's score in a certain way.

## Extra bonus for continuous superfeeding

As a result of continuous consumption of superfood for several days (at least 2), an additional bonus is applied, adding +0.1% to the base bonus at levels 1 and 2 for each day of continuous consumption of superfood by the animal. On the sixth day of continuous feeding, the additional bonus reaches its maximum value (+0.5% on levels 1 and 2) and does not increase again.

## Superfeed and weight loss (only applicable to bulls)

As you know, if animals are not fed, they will lose weight. Weight loss with no feed at all is 1/3 of the weight the animals would have gained with an optimal feed ration.

Superfeed has the unique ability to reduce the weight loss of bulls in the absence of animal feed. Every kilogram of superfeed fed to a bull reduces weight loss by 1/25 in the complete absence of regular feed. This means that at the maximum consumption of superfood (25 kg per day) your bull will not lose a single gram even in the absence of regular feed.

Superfeed does not have the same effect on cows.

## Examples of calculations of the effect of superfeeding

Now we will describe some specific examples of calculating the results of superfood and the accompanying bonuses, depending on various factors, so that you can understand exactly how much superfood can improve the performance of your animals.

### Example 1: "maximal" feed ration for bulls

Suppose you provide your bull with an optimal feed ration. At the age of 61 to 240 days, he will gain 1.583 kg per day (without superfood). Next, you stocked up on superfeed and decided to transfer this bull to an increased feed ration, with a constant consumption of 25 kg of superfeed per day. How much will the rate of weight gain of this bull increase?

#### Day 1 of continuous feeding with superfood

On this day the maximum level of bonus from superfeeding is reached, and, assuming continuous consumption of superfeeding by the bull from our example, all subsequent days will be calculated according to the formula of the 6th day of continuous feeding with superfeeding. ### Example 2: Increased feed ration "variable" for bulls

Suppose you provide your bull with an optimal feed ration. At the age of 61 to 240 days, he will gain 1.583 kg per day (without superfood). Next, you stocked up on superfeed and decided to transfer this bull to an increased feed ration, with a constant consumption of 25 kg of superfeed per day. Let's say you made a mistake with the amount of feed in the trough and the superfood ran out on the third day, in which the bull received 23 kg of superfood. Let's also assume that on the fourth day you bought 16 kg of superfood and fed it to the bull. On the fifth day, you were able to finish and feed the bull only 9 kg of superfood. Then, on the sixth and seventh days, you decide to resume the increased feed ration with a consumption of 25 kg per day. How will the weight gain of this bull vary?

Besides, our bull consumes superfeed for the fourth day in a row, so we include the corresponding additional bonus for continuous consumption of superfeed into the formula for calculation (only the first level of superfeed consumption is continuous, so the additional bonus applies only to the first level of consumption). In addition, our bull received less than 10 kg of superfood that day, which means the extra bonus for continuous feeding does not apply at all. The continuity of feeding on that day was broken. Suppose you provide your cow with an optimal feed ration. At the age of 61 to 240 days and weighing up to 400 kg, she will give 7.7 liters of milk per day (without superfood). Next, you stocked up on superfeed and decided to move this cow to an increased feed ration, with a constant consumption of 25 kg of superfeed per day. How much will this cow's milk yield increase?
