Types of products
Cattle produce several types of useful products, and are also capable of acting as a commodity in their own right, bringing you gold coins.
Below is a list of all possible sources of profit in livestock housing:
- Milk production.
- Beef production.
- Production of cow manure.
- Production of calf skins.
- Getting young animals (birth of steers and heifers).
- Exchange of young steers for state farm coupons.
- Renting out bulls-producers for gold coins. Read more
- Selling cows and bulls at a cattle fair for gold coins. Read more
Each age group of cattle has its own peculiarities of obtaining one or another type of production. Let's take a closer look at all these types of products and sources of profit.
Milk production
Milk is one of the main products of cattle.
Your animal must meet the following requirements to produce milk:
- Sex of the animal: cow.
- The age of the animal: from 61 to 420 days inclusive.
- Weight of the animal: at least 320 kg.
Milk yields from each individual cow depend on her age and weight. Below are two tables to help you determine how much milk a cow will produce.
Table. Milk yields for cows aged 61 to 240 days under the condition of optimal feed ration
Weight of the cow (kg) | Milk quantity at optimal feed ration (l/day) |
---|---|
320 to 400 | 7,7 |
400.001 to 450 | 8,085 |
450.001 to 500 | 8,47 |
500.001 to 550 | 8,855 |
550.001 to 600 | 9,24 |
600.001 to 650 | 9,625 |
from 650.001 and up | 10,78 |
Table. Milk yields for cows aged 241 to 420 days under the condition of optimal feed ration
Weight of the cow (kg) | Milk quantity at optimal feed ration (l/day) |
---|---|
320 to 400 | 5,5 |
400.001 to 450 | 5,775 |
450.001 to 500 | 6,05 |
500.001 to 550 | 6,325 |
550.001 to 600 | 6,6 |
600.001 to 650 | 6,875 |
from 650.001 and up | 7,7 |
If a cow receives a sub-optimal (incomplete) feed ration, production will be proportionally lower. If the animal is left hungry - there is no milk production on that day.
You can use the resulting milk in the following ways:
- Serve in the refectory as food for your clones (source of stamina). Read more
- Load it onto a pleasure craft to equip it for a voyage to distant shores. Read more
- Use for fattening young cattle.
- Use for fattening young pigs.
- Use as an ingredient for making some elixirs in the Alchemy Laboratory. Read more
- Sell on the commodity exchange in the trade guild. Read more
Beef production
Beef is one of the main products of cattle.
In order to get beef you need to submit your cattle to the Meat Factory. Cattle of any sex, age and weight can be turned in. Processing one animal carcass at the Meat Factory costs 2 gold coins.
The amount of beef that can be obtained by cutting each particular animal depends on its age and weight:
- If the age of the animal is up to 75 days (inclusive), the weight of the beef resulting from processing will be equal to 1/2 the weight of the carcass.
- You will get proportionally less meat from animals aged 76-480 days (up to 0 kg at day 480).
The amount of beef obtained by cutting an animal over 75 days of age is calculated by the formula:
W = (m/2)*(480-A)/(480-75),
Where:
- m - weight of the animal at the time of cutting.
- A is the age of the animal in days (A > 75).
You can use the resulting beef in the following ways:
- Serve in the refectory as food for your clones (source of stamina). Read more
- Load it onto a pleasure craft to equip it for a voyage to distant shores. Read more
- Use as a guard dog food. Read more
- Use as dragon food. Read more
- Use as an ingredient for making some elixirs in the Alchemy Laboratory.
- Sell on the commodity exchange in the trade guild.
If the weight of the animal delivered to the Meat Factory is 350 kg or more, you will also receive one calf skin.
Cow manure production
Cow manure is produced by animals of all genders, ages and weights.
The amount of manure produced by each individual animal depends on its age. Manure production has its own characteristics in each age group
Table. Manure production by cattle
Gender | Manure at 1-60 days of age | Manure at 61-240 days of age | Manure at 241-420 days of age | Manure at 421-480 days of age |
---|---|---|---|---|
Bull | Smooth increase from 0.1 kg on day 1 to 32 kg on day 60 | 32 | 25 | Smooth decrease from 21 kg on day 421 to 0.5 kg on day 480 |
Cow | Smooth increase from 0.1 kg on day 1 to 28 kg on day 60 | 28 | 21 | Smooth decrease from 21 kg on day 421 to 0.5 kg on day 480 |
These values will be true if the animal receives the optimal (complete) feed ration required by the appropriate age group. If an animal receives a sub-optimal (incomplete) feed ration, production will be proportionally lower. If the animal is left hungry - there is no manure production on that day.
Cow manure is a valuable raw material for processing into Dukhan Uragan fertilizer. Manure can be processed under Business → Livestock → Manure and Fertilizer. You can use the resulting fertilizer for your agricultural fields (see "Business → Farming").
To get 1 kg of "Cow Breeze" fertilizer, you need to spend:
- 7 kg of cow manure.
- 0.002 gold coin.
A significant impact on the cost of processing cow manure into fertilizer "Cow Breeze" has a Cowshed.
If for some reason you do not want to process your own cow manure, you can sell it at the Fair. You can also sell the ready-made fertilizer "Cow Breeze" there.
Production of calf skins
Calf skins are an additional product that is obtained when an animal is cut in a meat factory. Processing one animal carcass in a meat factory costs two gold coins. You can get calfskin when cutting an animal of any gender and age - but only if the weight of the animal at the time of cutting is not less than 350 kg.
You can use the resulting calfskin in the following ways:
- Use for top quality calfskin in a tannery in the principality or settlement. Read more
- Sell at the fair. Read more
Exchanging young steers for State Farm coupons
Young steers less than 60 days old can be turned in to the State Farm Nursery. For each surrendered steer you will receive State Farm coupons, at the rate of: 1 coupon per 1 kg of weight of the animal (at the time of exchange).
Only steers can be exchanged. There is no such exchange for chicks.
You can use your State Farm coupons in the following ways:
- Use to buy state farm securities or butchery securities at a securities auction. Read more
- Use to make superfoods for your cattle.
- Sell on the commodity exchange in the trade guild.
